Is WebDams free?

No. But the charges are minimal and are applied toward program maintenance and purchasing server time. For the latest pricing contact info@WebDams.com.

What types of WebDams accounts are available?

We offer three types of accounts to suit most users' requirements. Depending how long your project will last, you may purchase a three-month, a semiannual, or an annual account.

Are any special hardware required?

No. The WebDams does not have any special hardware requirements. Any computer capable of running a current version of the Microsoft Windows operating system (Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, or XP) and equipped with a functional connection to a remote host computer and sufficient resources for downloading and viewing the results can be used.

Are there any special software required?

Yes. They include:

1. SSH® Secure Shell for establishing secure network services with the server. You may purchase or download a free evaluation version of SSH from at www.ssh.com.

2. X-Win32®, a StarNet's series of X terminal programs for Microsoft Windows, which allows PC users access applications on UNIX/Linux servers and to display the results using the X11 graphical protocol. You can obtain X-Win32 at www.starnet.com.

3. A DXF file-viewing program for viewing finite-element model of the structure, stress, and displacement results. If you do not have AutoCAD® or AutoDesk View® you may download AutoDesk's Volo View Express which is available free at

4. PDF reader program for viewing WebDams manuals and other references. If you do not have a PDF reader you may download Adobe's Acrobat Reader from

5. A ZIP program to unpack downloaded results.
