You
just created an input file for gravity analysis in the pre-processing
run. Perform gravity analysis, by typing gdap at Bash
prompt and following GDAP instructions
on screen.
-
Create
input files for water, temperature, and time-history analyses.
Refer to GDAP user's manual for specific data needed for each
type of analysis. Name input files for water, temperature,
and time-history loads water.in, temper.in,
and th.in.
-
Complete
static analyses by running GDAP with water.in and temper.in
as the input files. Also run GEDIT utility to manipulate the
project data, if necessary. Just type gedit and follow
the prompt. You will see somethig like this.
-
Generate
a fluid finite-element model for computation of the added
hydrodynamic mass matrix for time-history analysis. To do
this, run GEDIT and select Save As
GDAP model. Enter 5 for water layers and then exit GEDIT.
Issue a command dir to see what you have
created. You may delete gdap_1.in, gadp_2.in,
gdap_3.in and gdap_4.in files, since they are
the recreation of pre.in, gravity.in,
water.in and temperature.in. These files can
be removed by rm command in Bash shell (just type rm
gdap_1.in for every file). Remember rm command
deletes files completely and they cannot be undeleted later.
Keep incres.in file, because it contains the complete
finite-element model of the impounded water. Now run gres
to compute the added hydrodynamic mass matrix, which will
be stored on tape12.dat for the subsequent time hsitory
analysis.
